What Is Performance Care?
Performance care is soft-tissue treatment to improve an athlete's performance in his or her chosen sport.
What Is ART?
Active Release Therapy (ART) is a patented, state-of-the-art system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.
How Does ART Work?
When an injury occurs, it produces abnormal texture, tension, and length in the affected tissues. The result is pain, reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and decreased athletic performance.
In ART treatment, the practitioner identifies exactly which tissues are affected in each patient. Then, the practitioner applies carefully selected ART treatment protocols to restore the tissue to its normal texture, tension, and length.
There are over 500 ART protocols. Each one is a combination of precisely directed tension and very specific patient movements.
Is Active Release Therapy for Me?
ART can quickly and permanently resolve many conditions that result from injury to over-used muscles, including:
- Back pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Shin splints
- Shoulder pain
- Plantar fasciitis
- Tennis elbow
The cumulative injury cycle is self-perpetuating. To resolve the condition, it is necessary to find and treat the cause. ART treatments can locate and resolve the root cause of many cumulative injury conditions.
